Byron Myrick - Raku Pottery
Byron's "Quilted Series" was inspired by archeological reconstruction of pottery as seen in museums. The idea of putting back together that which was once whole and of an ancient age, plus the desire to bring a contemporary look to this idea. Like the pieces of a quilt, parts of many different objects are brought together for one purpose. The work has a "modern antiquity" quality.
