W. Earl Robinson

Robinson was born on November 30, 1950, in Yazoo city, Mississippi, but grew up in Jonestown, Mississippi. At a young age, Mr. Robinson was fascinated by the visual arts. ?During my years in middle school I cut my teeth on drawing the marvel comic book characters.? Robinson dropped out of school and was drafted into the military. Once he was out of the military he moved to Robert Taylor Housing Project on Chicago?s south side. On December 24, 1972 he was shot in the left eye?just missing the part of the brain that governs breathing and heart function. He was left partially paralyzed on his left side, and he returned to art by painting the walls in his apartment.

Robinson is a remarkable artist with uncanny ability, and his work has attracted collectors from all across the country. He paints the scenes he continues to witness in rural Mississippi, capturing the beauty of rural Mississippi. Recently, he has shifted from rural landscapes to lush tropical forests to oceans capes. Artwork will be available for purchase.

Gifted and endowed by God, coupled with hard work, brought me to where I am as an artist. Art illuminates my world. My artistic vision is to create images that reveal the beauty within and beyond myself. What I feel, see, and hear, somehow come together in a multidimensional way.

I love the creative ability that God has given me, and I give Him all the glory. I feel most alive when I paint. All of my senses are engaged, and I respond to, and I feel moved by, and into something larger than myself. I received no academic training in art, therefore I take the creative approach exclusively, which results in a vital individualistic style of expression,? states W. Earl Robinson.
